September in the high desert means hot days, cold nights, and a festival that literally runs on balance. Think lasers and Reiki, wooks and wellness, chaos and calm, all holding hands under the same starry sky. It’s the place where your chakras align just in time for the bass to knock them loose again.
This is the biggest (and arguably best) stop on our Summer of Music Tour: three straight nights of cosmic energy, glitter storms, and sunrise sets designed to leave your frog soul hovering somewhere between the dance floor and the astral plane.
So grab your hoops, pack your layers, and get ready to meet us at the edge of the equinox.
The Desert Gets Weird: Welcome to Cascade Equinox
Mark your calendars: September 19 through 21, 2025, the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in Redmond, Oregon transforms into ground zero for lasers, balance, and bass. Cascade Equinox only launched in 2023, but in three short years, it’s already carved out a reputation as the high-desert gathering where weird gets woven into wonder.
The whole thing is built around the autumnal equinox, AKA that cosmic reset button when day and night stand perfectly equal (equinox comes from aequus, meaning equal, and nox, meaning night, for the trivia nerds). And balance is both the theme and the vibe. You’ll sweat it out under desert sun, then layer up when the nights turn icy. You’ll lose yourself in a bass drop, then wander into a healing garden to piece yourself back together.
Beyond the stages, Cascade Equinox feels like a choose-your-own-adventure book written by a very fun, very chaotic librarian. Roller discos spin late into the night, pop-up shops sell everything from crystal jewelry to the outfit you didn’t know you needed, and workshops stretch both your brain and your chakras.
The whole thing feels kinda like a living mixtape: immersive art that feels like it beamed in from another galaxy, tons of stuff to do, great music, and food vendors slinging way more than corn dogs (though let’s be real, you’ll probably still want one at 2 a.m.).
TLDR; Cascade Equinox is about holding both extremes in your hands and dancing with all of it under the stars, and we’re stoked to be a part of it this year.
The Sonic Buffet: From Chromeo to Big Gigantic
Of course, none of this even matters if the soundtrack doesn’t smack. And Cascade Equinox? Consider it a full-course meal for your ears.
The lineup runs the gamut from dreamy to downright dirty. Sylvan Esso brings the kind of ethereal dance pop that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into a lucid dream. Passion Pit is ready to trigger your inner indie sleaze revival, complete with 10,000 strangers scream-singing “Sleepyhead” in unison.
Chromeo keeps the disco-funk energy unapologetically high, and Big Gigantic throws live sax into EDM so the crowd forgets their ankles have been screaming since noon. When you’re ready to get grimy, TroyBoi delivers trap-heavy beats that shake your ribcage in all the right ways.
But that’s just the headliners. The rest of the weekend is stacked with about 100 other DJs, jam bands, and strange little genre-benders who soundtrack every corner of your metamorphosis. One moment you’re vibing with fishnet-clad bassheads, the next you’re spinning hoops while a jam band noodles you straight into the cosmos.
Cascade Equinox curates an atmosphere. Every set is a mood, every drop a memory, and every weird crossover collab the kind of thing you’ll still be talking about when you finally shake the desert dust out of your shoes.
