Cycling Frog is officially on tour. We’re hitting the road all summer long with a trunk full of THC seltzers, a suspicious number of frog stickers, and just enough planning to pretend we know what we’re doing. First stop? The Nelsonville Music Festival.
From the lineup to the local love, here’s why we teamed up with Nelsonville and how to spot us in the wild. Bring a blanket, lose your voice, sip something good.
Not Your Average Hilltop Hoedown
Tucked into the rolling hills of Southeast Ohio, Nelsonville Music Festival is intimate without being tiny, legendary without being chaotic, and cool without trying too hard. Think Bonnaroo energy, but if it was adopted by your cool free-spirited aunt who grows heirloom tomatoes, runs a community radio station, and definitely knows how to roll a joint.
But we’re not just showing up for the vibes (though they are, objectively, immaculate). We’re here because Nelsonville gets it.
Nelsonville Music Festival is a community-powered, zero-waste (it diverts over 90% of its trash from landfills. Iconic.), all-ages celebration of sound, creativity, and Appalachian culture—and that’s exactly the kind of weird, welcoming energy we want to be part of. Every dollar raised goes straight to Stuart’s Opera House, a nonprofit arts center that’s been championing creativity in Southeast Ohio since before Ohio even had area codes.
Stuart’s Opera House runs everything from after-school music programs to tuition-free arts education and live performances year-round. More than putting on a killer show, their mission is all about making sure future generations get to make noise too—which is why kids under 12 get in free. At Nelson Music Festival, everyone gets a seat at the stage, even if they still sit crisscross applesauce.
Recycling bins, banjos, and a giant kids’ zone? That’s the kind of chaos we can get behind. And we’re proud to help support a festival that gives so much back to its community.
Stage Time for Legends, Locals, and Literal Children
The lineup this year is STACKED with sets from Taj Mahal, Waxahatchee, Charley Crockett, The War and Treaty, just to name a few—plus a mix of new and emerging artists that’ll have you Shazaming in the middle of the forest like your life depends on it. If your summer playlist has twang, fuzz, or emotional damage, you’re gonna feel very seen.

Speaking of Camping out: Good move. Early birds get exclusive Thursday night sets from JP Harris, Chris Biester, and Mill Creek Mile before the fest officially kicks off. Just don’t forget your bug spray and your sense of wonder.
Since we’re sponsoring the fest, you’ll catch us floating around all weekend—sliding seltzer samples into hands, ranking harmonies by how feral they make us feel, and emotionally imprinting on strangers in the merch line.
The set we’re most excited for? The students from Stuart’s Afterschool Music Program. These kids have been learning, writing, and getting ready to share the stage—and honestly, it’s what this whole festival is about. We’re proud of them. We’ll be clapping the loudest and cheering for them like they’re our favorite nieces and nephews.
